what we do

About Our Dog & Puppy Training Classes: 

Puppy and dog training classes are for dogs and handlers of all ages and every level of training experience.

New members are always welcome, you will be taught essential obedience skills and socialisation techniques by experienced instructors who use reward-based, motivational training, rewarding good behaviour, developing clear communication and confidence between dog and handler.

Training your dog or puppy should be an enjoyable experience for you both, our classes provide a safe environment to learn and socialise your puppy or dog alongside others who are at a similar stage in their training. 

Culverstone Dog Training Club is based in Kent, the club is Kennel Club registered and has been established for many years.

Our weekly training classes are held every Wednesday evening at:

Culverstone Community Centre, Whitepost Lane, Meopham, Kent, DA13 0TN

Puppy training classes are designed for young and inexperienced dogs, our classes support responsible dog ownership, your dog will learn using positive reward-based training and group socialisation.

Owners with puppies and young dogs under one year of age we offer the Kennel Club Puppy Assessment, those with older dogs the Kennel Club Good Citizens Award is available, both courses are a great start to your training, on completion your efforts will be rewarded with a rosette and certificate to mark your achievement.

At the end of your course should you wish to progress further, or you and your dog already have experience we have obedience training classes for dogs and handlers at every level of competitive obedience.

Puppy Training Classes

Puppy training classes are popular and run at regular intervals. See our activity page for forthcoming course dates.

Puppy training courses are 8 weeks in duration and supervised by experienced instructors who are always on hand to give support and guidance. The class aims to give you and your new puppy a safe space and positive introduction to basic puppy training and socialisation.

Classes are group based and learning uses kind, motivational, reward-based training, ideal for puppies and young dogs who have not received any previous training.

Kennel Club Good Citizens Training Scheme

The Kennel Club Good Citizens Award is a great way to progress your dogs training. This class is open to all breeds, of all ages, it is aimed to help handlers and dogs  overcome everyday social interactions and promote responsible dog ownership.

Whether you have a puppy, adolescent or rescue dog the Kennel Club Good Citizens training course is a great introduction to your dog's training, promoting essential obedience skills, socialisation and good manners.

On completion of the course you and your dog will be able to demonstrate your learning by carrying out set exercises, your achievement will be rewarded with a certificate and rosette.

The Kennel Club Good Citizens training course is a natural progression from the puppy classes and will allow you to develop your dog's training further.

Competition Obedience Classes

Competition dog training classes are available for handlers and dogs working at competition standard and those handlers looking for an introduction into competing with their dog, we welcome both new and experienced handlers to our classes.

Training is available for every level of competition obedience ranging from introductory, pre-beginner and beginner progressing to the advanced classes of novice, A, B and C. 

Our competing members and their dogs have a range of experience, their achievements have proven their commitment and ability with many advancing in their respective classes. Our members form a great community, they have a wealth of knowledge, providing support to help each handler and dog achieve its full potential.

We welcome new puppy owners to join our puppy training classes and to take the Kennel Club Puppy Foundation Assessment followed by the Bronze Good Citizens Award. If you want to further your training we offer a range of advanced obedience training classes.
