About Our Training Classes

Puppy and dog training classes are for dogs and handlers of all ages and every level of training experience.

New members are always welcome, you will be taught by experienced instructors who use reward-based, motivational training, this method rewards good behaviour and develops clear communication and confidence.

Training your dog or puppy should be an enjoyable experience for you both, our classes provide a safe environment to learn and socialise your puppy or dog alongside others who are at a similar stage in their training.

Culverstone Dog Training Club is Kennel Club registered and has been established for many years, our weekly classes are held in Meopham, Kent.

Call today to find out more about our classes.

Puppy training classes are designed for young and inexperienced dogs, our classes support responsible dog ownership, your dog will learn using positive reward-based training and group socialisation.

Owners with puppies and young dogs under one year of age we offer the Kennel Club Puppy Assessment, those with older dogs the Kennel Club Good Citizens Award is available, both courses are a great start to your training, on completion your efforts will be rewarded with a rosette and certificate to mark your achievement.

At the end of your course should you wish to progress further, or you and your dog already have experience we have obedience training classes for dogs and handlers at every level of competitive obedience.

Puppy Training Classes

Puppy training classes are very popular and run at regular intervals. See our activity page for forthcoming course dates.

Puppy courses are 8 weeks in duration and supervised by experienced instructors who are always on hand to give support and guidance. The class aims to give you and your new puppy a safe space and positive introduction to basic puppy training and socialisation.

Classes are group based and learning uses kind, motivational, reward-based training, ideal for puppies and young dogs who have not received any previous training.

For more information, please contact us to find out more and how to book your space on the next available course.

Kennel Club Good Citizens Training Scheme

The Kennel Club Good Citizens Award is a great way to progress your dogs training. This class is open to all breeds, of all ages and is aimed to train handlers and dogs to overcome everyday social interactions and promote responsible dog ownership.

Whether you have a puppy, adolescent or rescue dog the Kennel Club Good Citizens training course is a great introduction to your training. On completion of the course you and your dog will be able to demonstrate your learning by carrying out set exercises, your achievement will be rewarded with a certificate and rosette.

The Kennel Club Good Citizens training course is a natural progression from the puppy classes and will allow you to develop your dog's training further.

Competition Obedience Classes

Training is available for every level of competition obedience ranging from the elementary classes of special pre-beginner and beginner to the more advanced classes of novice, A, B and C.

Our members who compete with their dogs have a range of experience, their successes in 2023 has proven their ability with many advancing in their respective classes and we look forward to them continuing their successes in 2024.

Classes are held on Wednesday evenings at:

Culverstone Community Centre, Whitepost Lane, Culverstone, Kent, DA13 0TN.

We welcome new puppy owners to join our puppy training classes and to take the Kennel Club Puppy Foundation Assessment followed by the Bronze Good Citizens Award. If you want to further your training we offer a range of advanced obedience training classes.
